Information For Parents

Solis MMC Children’s Services respects and values the vital role that parents or carers play in the lives of a young person.

We recognise the need for a holistic approach to maximise the huge potential of each and every young person. We work in collaboration with all interested parties, most importantly parents or carers to ensure that the needs of the young person are best met. Parents or carers always play a vital role in supporting the placement as it is important that they work with their child and us to help the young person realise their potential and accomplish their goals.

Who will be looking after your child?

Our loyal and dedicated employees are all committed to enriching the lives of young people. Staff are fully qualified and the team is made up of many different skills and backgrounds such as social care, teaching and social work. We also employ the services of a consultant psychologist, who oversees all placement plans as well as meeting all of our young people on a regular basis.

What will your child be doing?

We recognise that all young people are unique and have their own specific needs – it is our goal to ensure that these needs are catered for. We aim to provide a nurturing environment, where young people can feel safe, valued and recognised. Daily and weekly programmes to provide the structure that best meets your child’s needs will be facilitated by staff who will always offer caring encouragement. Programme activities may include:

• A formal educational component.
• Weekly activities such as football, golf, swimming, bowling etc.
• Individual work sessions.
• Key working sessions.
• Day trips.
